Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye popularly known as ‘ Rudeboy ‘ has condemned the Lagos State Police Command over its response as regards the threat issued to Igbo residents of the State by Mr. Musiliu Akinsanya also known as ‘ MC Oluomo ‘.
He made this known of recent through his official Twitter page, stressing that security agencies were the problem of the country.
Rudeboy said: ” Until we realize our major problem in Nigeria is the security agencies; someone is threatening some certain tribes in Lagos and the police came out to say he was just joking. Now look at what is happening in the State today, Oga Police was he really joking? Shameless people”.
Recall that in a video which went viral, MC Oluomo who is the Chairman of Lagos State Parks Management Committee warned Igbos against coming out to vote if they would not vote for the political party of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Meanwhile, in another video, he explained that he was just joking and never meant harm to anyone; which the State’s Police Command agreed with.
The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, cast his vote at about 9:40 a.m. at polling unit 045 in Anifowoshe, Ikeja.
The gubernatorial candidate was received by dozens of supporters, including pressmen, as he arrived at his polling unit.
A popular activist, Comrade Joe Odumakin, was also seen at the polling unit with Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
The gubernatorial candidate addressed the press before leaving the polling unit.
Also, the incumbent, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has also cast his vote on Lagos Island.
The governor was also received by a jubilant crowd as he arrived at the polling unit with his wife.
Many prominent Nigerians, including the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have cast their votes in the ongoing governorship and state house of assembly elections.
The election is relatively peaceful in Lagos State so far. However, there have been reports of violence and voter intimidation in some parts of the state.
